When people decide something is art, then it's art . . . no matter how crappy it looks. And SCARLETT JOHANSSON'S new tattoo is a testament to that. Scarlett got a poorly-drawn horseshoe on her ribcage, along with the words "Lucky You". And it looks like a CHILD drew it. The thing is, it was actually drawn by a famous French artist who goes by the name FUZI. And this is just his style. He does a lot of tattoos, and they all look like they're poorly-drawn. (--Here's a gallery in case you're interested.) Scarlett's a fan of this guy . . . so we have to assume she's very happy with her new ink.
Meanwhile, just about everybody she shows this to is going to think she got RIPPED OFF by a shoddy tattoo artist.  Either that, or it was done by her prison cellmate.  Is it really "hip" when pretty much NOBODY gets it?

TAYLOR SWIFT does NOT trash every guy she's ever dated. She claims to be "incredibly close" with TAYLOR LAUTNER and now we're hearing she's still on speaking terms with CONOR KENNEDY.
According to the "New York Post", Taylor and Conor still talk on the phone and there's a solid chance they'll see each when she attends the RFK Gala on December 3rd. Apparently, the only reason they broke up was because Taylor knew she'd be out of her mind busy promoting "Red" plus there's that little issue of Conor still being in high school. Taylor will also be performing her song "State of Grace" from her new album "Red" on Thursday's "X Factor". It'll be the first time she's performing that song on TV.

JASON ALDEAN and his wife Jessica were on yesterday's "CBS This Morning". It was their first public appearance together since Jason was caught "messing around" with former "American Idol" contestant BRITTANY KERR. The show started with a taped piece about Jason's "amazing rise" to the top. They touched on his yearly "Concert for the Cure" and then got down to business and asked how they're doing. Jason fielded that one. He said, quote, "I think we're fine. "Anytime you go through something like that it's tough. We've been together a long time and have been through a lot of things together. Those are things most people get to deal with in private. We didn't have the luxury of doing that. "I would say go ask any couple that's been married 30, 40, 50 years. I guarantee-"  That's when Jessica jumped in and said, "I would love to hear THEIR story." And Jason wrapped it up, saying, quote, "It hasn't always been roses."

Song Title : Guess I'm A Fool

Hugh Laurie - Guess I'm A Fool Lyrics :

You told me you were leaving
After all we’ve been through
Guess I’m fool falling in love with you
There ain’t no use in crying
Do what you have to do
Guess I’m a fool falling in love with you.

[Chorus:]
You told me that the kind of love we have
Will last for a million years
I believe everything you said
You felt my heart with tears.
So long pretty baby
Go break some other heart in two
Guess I’m a fool falling in love with you.

[Chorus:]
You told me that the kind of love we have
Will last for a million years
I believe everything you said
You felt my heart with tears.
So long pretty baby
Go break some other heart in two
Guess I’m a fool falling in love with you.

Falling in love with you,
Falling in love with you
Falling, falling in love with you.

Historical notes about Tuesday's red wave:

1. Ron Johnson’s 52% was the best performance by a Republican Senate candidate in Wisconsin since, brace yourself … 1956.

2. Johnson will be only the second Republican to serve in the Senate from Wisconsin since the Kennedy Administration, the third since Joe McCarthy, and the fourth since the 1930s.

3. Republicans gained two U.S. House seats in Wisconsin for the first time since 1966.

4. I couldn’t find any other time in the last 50 years that one party in Wisconsin has gained or lost three seats in Congress. It happened Tuesday when Republicans picked up two U.S. House seats and a Senate seat.

5. According to the Wisconsin GOP, the 14 state Assembly seats the party gained is the most since 1938. (We warned you on election day to remember 1938). The four state Senate seats the party gained is the most since 1980.

These additional factoids come from UW-Madison political science chair John Coleman:

1. Republicans nationally have their most state legislative seats since 1928 (about 3,920, with some still too close to call; that’s 53% of all the legislative seats in the country).

2. Republicans gained 19 state legislative chambers across the country, with four additional chambers still up in the air but potential pickups.

3. Democrats now control only 38% of the state legislative seats in the Midwest; their worst since 1956.

4. The GOP gain of 680 legislative seats nationally (across lower and upper houses) was the most by either party since 1966.

5. Republicans will control at least 55 chambers, their most since 1952.

6. Democrats gained seats in only one state lower chamber (Delaware) and five upper chambers (Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania).

7. In the battle for Congress, 49 Democratic House incumbents and only two Republican incumbents were defeated. An additional 14 open seats held by Democrats were picked up by Republicans; only one open seat flipped from Republican to Democrat.

8. Wisconsin's Russ Feingold was one of only two incumbent Democrats in the Senate to be defeated along with Arkansas' Blanche Lincoln; no GOP senators lost. Four open seats in the Senate switched from Democrat to Republican.

This Western Wednesday post takes us all the way back to 1950. "There's a Tear in My Beer" is a country song written and recorded by Hank Williams, and later re-recorded by his son in 1988. The original version was written and recorded by Hank Williams during one of his Nashville sessions in 1950-51, but he decided against releasing it. It was not until many years later, in 1989, that the original song would get its first official release. (Source)

Hank Williams, Jr.'s version is a duet with his father created using electronic merging technology. As the song had been previously recorded with Hank Williams playing the guitar as the sole instrument, his son and his band simply "filled in the blanks" and recorded additional vocals. The music video for the song combined television footage that had existed of Hank Williams performing, onto which electronic merging technology impressed the recordings of Hank Jr., which then made it appear as if he were actually playing with his father. The video was both a critical and commercial success, and was named Video Of The Year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country music. Hank Williams, Sr. & Jr., would go on to "share" a Grammy award win in 1990 for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. (Source)

Toby Keith and Rodney Atkins Salute the Troops This Veterans Day Weekend!

To contact us Click HERE

This Veteran's Day weekend, we remember the troops who have served to protect the United States. No format of music consistently honors those who serve as much as country music, and that's evident with stars like Toby Keith and Rodney Atkins who regularly perform for the troops overseas. Toby has played nearly 200 shows for the troops overseas since he started his yearly tours with the U.S.O. more than a decade ago. He began doing the tours in honor of his veteran father. Says Toby, "I just kind of went and I got there and saw the void that was there and the U.S.O. was like, 'Man, any time you want to come back, we'll take you.'" Toby has been back every year since and often goes out to entertain troops on very remote bases. Even seeing a helicopter is a big deal to these troops who may be deployed out there for 18 months.
"It's like, 'Something's coming out here to see us.'" Toby says. "There may be 25 guys out in the middle of nowhere." Toby plans to continue making the trips as long as he can, and he says, "I'm honored to do it. It's great boys and girls, and thank God we have 'em over there." Rodney Atkins can speak firsthand to the intense work the troops put in every day to defend America's freedom. Looking back on one of his tours entertaining the troops in Afghanistan, Rodney recalls getting up in the middle of the night and seeing a soldier doing intense physical training in the freezing rain. Rodney says, "He was carrying sandbags, like 200 pound sandbags and throwing them down and then he’d pick them back up in the freezing rain.  He’d walk twenty five yards, whatever, throw it down, pick it back up. " Rodney walked over to the soldier and asked him if he had been ordered to do this training. The soldier told him no one ordered him to get up at 3 a.m.
Rodney recalls him saying, "I’m doing this because I never know when I’m gonna have to carry one of my brothers or sisters back through the gates of hell.'" When he heard that, Rodney realized he had nothing to complain about at all in his life. He says, "It’s just amazing what they go through.  Keep the men and women in your prayers."

Swedish House Mafia Featuring John Martin - Don't You Worry Child

To contact us Click HERE
For the last few weeks I've been planning on reviewing this song, but its music video has always stopped me. I think I just don't want to give a bad rating to an amazing song, one of which is Swedish House Mafia's last single before their indefinite hiatus. However here goes nothing.

Swedish House Mafia are a three piece dance band from Sweden. They consist of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. They are currently in the middle of their final tour before they go on their hiatus. Their reason for breaking up is that they aren't sure where they want to go next. By the looks of things, they want to do different things. However I reckon this won't be the last we'll see of them, and it's quite possible future collaborations between the members will be on the cards. John Martin once again collaborates with this band, the first song being "Save The World". He has such a great voice, and if he doesn't get around to releasing songs himself I will be left shocked and surprised as he deserves to do well.

"Don't You Worry Child" was written by Axel Hedfors (Axwell), Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, John Martin Lindstrõm and Michel Zitron. The band says the inspiration for the song comes from the beauty of Australia. However if that was the case why do we have footage from Milton Keynes, UK?

Okay I have to admit, I really don't like these types of music video, as you have probably guessed in similar blog posts. I just feel these have been done over and over again, and if you are willing to do a music video like this, at least switch it up!

A few examples that come to mind for switching it up, is DixonBeats & Dante's "Afraid" and Avril Lavigne's "Losing Grip". This music video just shows footage from their concert at Milton Keynes and it leaves me bored.

I totally understand that these music videos are done for their fans. That if you were in the crowd at that time you would be so happy that you'll be featuring in a music video. However it doesn't make it a good music video. If you were going to do this, then at least release it as a promotional video and then a few weeks later release an official music video. Personally, when videos like this come up, I can't help but think "lazy", it's the one word that runs through my mind every time.

Overall a great song, that I love every time the clubs play it. The song definitely deserved that UK number one, and if I were reviewing the song it would be getting five stars. However I'm reviewing the music video alone, and this is a video I see artists releasing every single year, or more often, and I really don't enjoy watching it.

KT Tunstall - Other Side Of The World

After thinking it over and over, about what to do for my Sunday Revisit, I finally settled on this one from KT Tunstall, purely because my next-door flatmate is playing it everyday. Honestly, I'm not that interested in this song, but I don't really know why.

As I mentioned in my previous blog post of "Suddenly I See". KT Tunstall, real name Kate Tunstall, has been going since 2004. Even in 2012, almost 2013, people are still playing her songs, it shows longevity, but without a top 10 behind her, is she slowly disappearing? Or will her future single have that top 10 stamp of approval?

"Other Side Of The World" was KT Tunstall's highest charting single at number 13, until the following single of "Suddenly I See" got 1 position higher. It was written by KT Tunstall and Martin Terefe. It's about a long distance relationship and is based on a true story as 2 friends of KT Tunstall's were in a long distance relationship where one was in Britain and the other was in New York. They took this idea onto the music video.

The music video is narrative based. Featuring KT Tunstall and an unknown male actor (anyone who knows who it is please comment below and I'll add it. I have a few names but can't be certain). They are on opposite sides of the world. It looks like he isn't quite over her as we might first think, and she is still in love with him. I love how the ending is a complete reverse from the start.

The only problem I have with this music video is that it doesn't keep me entertained, I find it difficult to watch two simultaneous scenes, however I like the idea, and it's extremely clever, I just feel it's hard to keep up with it.

Overall a great song, that isn't something I would go out of my way to listen to, unlike one of my uni flatmates, however I understand why he likes it so much. As for the music video, it's a great concept and should've worked great, but it's missing something, and I won't be watching it again, unless I have to.

New Release: Tulisa - Sight Of You

Tulisa, full name Tulisa Contostavlos, first found fame in N-Dubz, with cousin Dappy and friend (now former boyfriend) Fazer. The band recently split with all of them going in different directions. Tulisa got a number one hit with "Young". It has recently been confirmed N-Dubz will be getting back together. However, personally, I feel Tulisa's perfect by herself, and this song just proves how credible of an artist she actually is.

"Sight Of You" was written by Tulisa Contostavlos and Terius Nash (The-Dream). She described it as a Christmas ballad that will stand the test of time. And I was blown away by it. I first heard it today and I was shocked, it's so different to "Young" and "Live It Up", but it works so perfectly beautiful, I just couldn't believe this was a Tulisa track. The only problem is the bit at the end when she says "The End", it worked just the way I wanted it to and then BAM! Right at the end it's ruined just that tiny bit.

The music video is amazing. That's the only word to describe it. It's exactly what I expected and more and made me want to know what was going to happen. It kept me engaged and that is what I want from this sort of video.

It features quite-known actor Jody Latham as Tulisa's lover. They break apart and Tulisa then finds him with another girl shortly after. She then tries to make him jealous, and it works. They finally get back together at the end, and it's like nothing has gone on. It reminds me of so many soap opera relationships and ones in the real world too.

Overall a great song that should definitely stand the test of time. I personally think it should be a hit and become Tulisa's signature song, however it looks doubtful. The music video is out of this world, it just couldn't have been done better, leaving me partially speechless and happy that after some while I can finally give this rating. I look forward to future music videos by Tulisa.

OK Go - Here It Goes Again

To contact us Click HERE
OK Go are a four piece American Alternative rock band consisting of Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross. I have never heard of these people before and one of my flatmates mentioned them a few days ago. Then all of a sudden, today I got a request for this song... Seems a bit shifty to me, but it might just be a pure coincidence because I just completely embarrassed myself by talking about this suggestion to him and he had no clue what I was talking about, or he is a very convincing liar. I'm thinking the former. This week really haven't been my week at all. Anyway, OK Go have had a few hits in America, the UK and Australia. It'll be interesting what the future will bring.

"Here It Goes Again" was written by Damien Kulash. The song is currently the band's only single to dip into the US Billboard Hot 100, managing to chart at number 38. In the UK it managed to chart at number 36. However it is believed the reason for this is the music video, as it became one of the most watched YouTube videos, until it got taken down. See I told you the music video does count towards sales. It's not my sort of thing, but I don't cringe listening to it, so clearly my flatmates are slowly getting through to me.

The music video is pure genius. It is one continuous take of the band dancing on treadmills, all choreographed amazingly. Apparently, it is common in their videos, for Tim Nordwind to lip-sync the song's lyrics when it's actually Damien Kulash who sings the vocals.

This video is definitely a statement and it's always great to watch, even though I've only seen it once. It took seventeen attempts to finally get it right, and they pulled it off perfectly... Or have they?

Time for the nitty-gritty... There are a few steps in the choreography that is missed, and videos like this clearly make them stand out, and I can't help but express how important it is to be in sync at all times. However I give it the benefit of the doubt as they must have been tired after seventeen attempts.

Furthermore, the song and the video doesn't relate, this is usually a must, and even performance based videos manages to convey the meaning through the expressions, again I'm willing to let it slide because this is a totally unexpected video. I also feel that something else should be included. I just feel it's pretty uninteresting. However it's fun eye-catching and not something I expected.

Bayer parodied this for their Effervescent drink: Berocca (which I take regularly). Their adverts are always fun to watch. See right for the video.

Overall, the song is not my thing, but it is others, and I respect that. The video is a great idea, it's fun, it's different, and it definitely stands out. However it's a bit bland and missing that extra little spark that's needed to make me go WOW!

Deadmau5 Featuring Chris James - The Veldt

To contact us Click HERE
Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, has never appeared on my blog so far, and wouldn't have done so today, if I had not gone bowling and saw this video on the TV screens. He has been going since 2005, and although he is from Canada, he has had the most chart hits in the UK, with 15 single entries. This is his joint third best chart position, at number 68 along with "Sofi Needs A Ladder". The two better charting singles are "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" (at number 12) and "I Remember" (at number 14). This song "The Veldt" was written by Joel Zimmerman and Chris James. It is based on the short story of the same name written by Ray Bradbury (Click here to read the story, it's well worth the read). So I wonder what the future will bring to Deadmau5, he's definitely not disappearing, that's for sure, and hopefully there will be a single to top the charts soon? Surely he is credible enough. The song features Chris James who is a good vocalist, but hasn't come into the limelight much, hopefully we'll see more of him in the future.
The music video is also based on The Veldt by Ray Bradbury, which makes the link in with the song amazing. The animation was done by Qudos Animations.
I watched this before reading the story, and was surprised and very interested. Of course I was interested otherwise I wouldn't be reviewing it, right? After reading the story online, this video blew me away, it describes exactly what I imagined in the story and more so.
I have nothing bad to say at all about this video. It follows the story's subtlety with murder and I have to give a ten out of ten for that, it's practically more subtle in this music video rather than the story.
Overall, a great song that makes more sense after reading the short story. It's accompanying music video is amazing, I got scared when the brother (presumably Peter from the story) pushed the girl (Wendy) off the cliff, I was like, what are you doing? But the ending is surprising and expected, after reading the story. But even if you don't read the story it still works well, and I can't help but give it the full rating, as I just can't give it anything else.

"It's not as scripted," Toby explains. "You can just kind of hang out. We've got some guidelines to go by, but it's wide open."

"I am a country music fan," Kristen adds. "I've presented at a variety of country music awards shows in the past because I am a fan. I don't know how I got here. They invited me, and I squealed! I obviously said yes. I'd never been to Nashville before, so I'm very excited."

Artist : Hugh Laurie

Infernal - I Won't Be Crying

To contact us Click HERE
Infernal is my Sunday revisit, purely because I don't think I'll ever get another chance to review this music video, and I specifically remember liking this music video lots, but I have no clue why.

As I have previously covered in my blog post for "From Paris To Berlin", Infernal are a duo consisting of Lina Rafn and Paw Langermann. They have only had three of their singles hit the UK chart, this one being the third and last and lowest position. "I Won't Be Crying", was more or less the decider as to whether they will stay in the UK limelight or not. But since it charted at 123, Infernal disappeared from the UK, or so we thought. They are still releasing but with no promotion, only their devoted fans to spread the word, Infernal just may never reach the UK chart, let along succeed to the height of their popularity back in 2006.

This music video is one of those videos that you see a lot of. It reminds me of From Above's "Not The Same Girl" and Rudenko's "Everybody". There's bound to be a lot more that have this similar style. And the only way to switch it up is to make it your own, and I feel that Infernal has done that with a little humorous spin to things.

I like the storyline, it's really good and links with the song perfectly. I especially like how the guy thinks he is perfection, rather than it being the girl, which shows a complete role reversal. I like how they've drawn inspirations too, such as the mirrors.

I like how they have added the performance sided to things, clearly showing what the UK missed out on. This song didn't chart high enough and Infernal disappeared from the UK chart altogether. However it was definitely worthy of getting much higher in the chart, as the vocals on this track is amazing, and I'm struck in awe every time I hear this track. I hope Infernal comes into the UK limelight once again, however it's not looking promising.

Esmée Denters - It's Summer Because We Say So

To contact us Click HERE
Esmée Denters, yes you heard that name correctly, she is BACK! She is well known for her song "Outta Here" and her collaborations with Chipmunk on "Until You Were Gone" and Justin Timberlake on "Love Dealer". She was labelled as an R&B artist, but I don't think the UK took to her, and soon enough other countries world-wide started to become disinterested. She disappeared for two years, and now she is back, with a complete new direction in music. Is this right? I think so, and I think she thinks so too. Could this be her way of staying in the limelight. We'll just have to wait and see.

"It's Summer Because We Say So" is definitely not the sort of song I would've expected Esmée Denters to sing, but here she is, and here I am, reviewing something worthy enough to be a Cascada song. It was released last week, but I don't think many people realised she had released a new song, again lack of promotion, furthermore I found it difficult to find as it is under her first name only of Esmée, is this the name we are supposed to go by now? And if so, how come she hasn't changed her facebook and twitter profiles?

This music video is clearly low budget. It's missing a hell of a lot. I can't imagine the music channels picking this video up and showing it, it's just not commercial enough, it doesn't exude what you really want and need from a video like this, and although, for some people, Esmée is enough, for others it just isn't.

I don't even know where to comment on this video, there's just not enough there. I like the photo booth, but it's a common item found in previous low-budgeted music videos.

I really haven't got much else to say. The song should've been a massive summer hit, but it came out too late and wasn't promoted enough (3 Beat Records really need to step up their game). The music video had so much promise, but doesn't work and doesn't stand out. I have to go with my brain on this rating, and I really don't like dipping this low for ratings, but guess I have no choice. however the song is definitely much better than the video, her voice is fantastic, and I hope she gets her big break soon!
